Happens that, as Carmel claimed later, Neobie already treated her to a Kit-Kat.
I still had to go to DLSU, and since I don't have a reason to do so yet, the plans were put on hold. Not until the US elections, at least - when Time released their commemorative Obama-has-won issue, I decided that it's what I'll give her instead.
So yesterday, while having lunch, I picked up a copy at 7-Eleven. One hundred twenty bucks.
After leaving the office, I went to National Bookstore (at the Shang, unfortunately - oh, damn those memories!) and bought an envelope to write a note in. Two bucks.
I then went to LBC to have it delivered. My idea was, since the issue's dated 17 November, she's better off receiving it while it's still fresh, rather than it past its sell-by date. And, it would've made the gesture a bit grander, a bit more dramatic. And I've always wanted to send someone something that way. One hundred five bucks.
"Change has come to Sta. Mesa Heights! Well, my tita was the one who received it. Will see it later. I got Newsweek na rin. Haha. People ipabibili ko sa tita ko. Thank you."
I missed that warm, happy feeling in me, but really, the reason why I went through so much - and burned my wallet terribly - just to give her something was because I was feeling so sad.
I blame it on things.
